DESCRIPTION:The 52nd Annual Ignitor Nitro Opener Drag Race is Saturday and Sunday at Firebird Raceway, 8551 Highway 16.\nFirebird’s longest running event, the grand daddy 52nd Annual Ignitor Nitro Opener presented by The Blower Shop returns Saturday-Sunday, May 6-7.\nAA/Nitro Funny Car qualifying is set for noon, 2:30 pm and 6 pm on Saturday, followed by final Nitro eliminations at high noon on Sunday. Testing will be available on Fri., May 5, for registered Ignitor entrants.\nOriginating back in 1971, this year’s Ignitor will showcase the second stop in the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series for a strong field of Nitro Funny Cars presented by Stinker Stores. In addition, Gold Cup competitors will battle it out in Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, Sled/Bike and Pro Comp eliminator on both Sat. and Sun.\n
